Schwartz Semerdjian Haile Ballard & Cauley LLP is an AV rated law firm formed in 1998 by lawyers who were previously partners at the San Diego law firm of Post Kirby Noonan & Sweat LLP. The firm combines the legal skills, litigation experience and support found in a large firm with the virtues of a more personal practice zealously representing a variety of clients across a spectrum of specialized areas, across California and the United States.

All of the lawyers are experienced litigators except two, who focus on business and real estate transactional matters as well as estate planning. The litigators of Schwartz Semerdjian Haile Ballard & Cauley LLP have extensive trial experience, including jury and court trials in both state and federal courts, NASD arbitrations, mediations, judicial and non-judicial arbitrations, and trials in other jurisdictions.

The firm is built on the strong academic background of its lawyers. Law schools represented by lawyers in the firm range from the law schools in San Diego to other schools in California, such as University of the Pacific. The attorneys have attended prestigious universities, including Stanford, UCLA and UCSD.

The firm and its lawyers frequently contribute their time to professional organizations, participate in continuing education activities and support community organizations. For example, one partner is a Member of the House of Delegates to the American Bar Association (ABA) and is the Vice Chairman of the Business Torts Committee of the ABA, and others have served on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Trial Lawyers Association and are members of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers of San Diego. Many of the lawyers are past and present board members of the Barristers Club of San Diego County. Civic activities include membership on the Board of Directors and on other committees of the YMCA Human Development Department, San Diego Data Processing Corporation, San Diego International Sports Council, UCSD, Children's Museum of San Diego, Defenders, Inc., Leukemia Society of America and Museum of Photographic Arts.
The attorneys are members of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), San Diego Defense Lawyers Association, The Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, California Trial Lawyers Association, San Diego Trial Lawyers Association, Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, Association of Business Trial Lawyers of San Diego and Barristers Club.

Partners serve as arbitrators for the American Arbitration Association and are Judges Pro Tem for the San Diego Superior Courts.
